What's the best D1 team the best D3 team could beat?
Every year somebody says the D3 champ could hang with a bunch of D1 programs. So let's settle it.
Take the best D3 team in the country, on their best day. What's the best D1 team they could actually beat in a single game?
A few things to think about:
- D3 depth vs. D1 scholarship rosters
- Faceoffs and goalie play (a hot goalie can steal any game)
- Bottom-of-the-table D1 programs vs. a D3 powerhouse
Name the D1 team, tell us why, and give a final score. Bonus points if you've seen these teams play.
